Car Rental for a Charleston Wedding Weekend: Luxury Picks

Rehearsal dinner, ceremony, brunch: how to choose a rental for a Charleston wedding weekend, which of our luxury cars suit it, and when to book.

Charleston is a popular wedding destination, and a wedding weekend usually means a lot of movement: airport pickups, a rehearsal dinner, the ceremony, the reception and a Sunday brunch, often in three different places. Rideshares work for one leg and get tedious by the third. A rental car for the couple, the parents or the out-of-town guests keeps the weekend on schedule. This guide is for anyone booking a car for a wedding weekend, and it sticks to what we actually have.

Who usually rents a car for a wedding weekend

  • The couple. A car that feels special for the weekend, with room for a dress or a garment bag.
  • Parents and family. Someone who needs to get between the hotel, the venue and the rehearsal dinner without waiting on rideshares.
  • Out-of-town guests. Friends flying into Charleston International (CHS) who want to see the city before the ceremony.
  • Wedding-party members. People who are running errands, picking up flowers or collecting family from the airport.

The luxury cars we have, with real prices

We are a small fleet. All five of our luxury cars are $70 a day or less on Turo, and each is below our $80 pickup. These are the numbers on our fleet pages today:

Book early, and book the dates you need

Wedding weekends are the dates when cars get taken first, and we only have a handful of luxury vehicles. If you know your dates, book as soon as you do. Think about the whole weekend: if guests land Thursday and leave Monday, book Thursday to Monday rather than just the ceremony day, or the car may be taken on either side. If you want several cars for one wedding party, message us through Turo before booking so we can tell you honestly what is free for those dates.

Getting the car to the right place

We are based in Mount Pleasant and deliver within 10 miles, which includes downtown Charleston. Delivery to CHS is $100, and free on trips of 5 days or more. For a guest flying in, a car waiting at the airport saves a rental-counter line the day before a wedding. Our CHS delivery guide explains the handoff. Send your flight details through the Turo app so we can plan around delays. For a venue outside our 10-mile range, message us first and we will tell you whether we can reach it.

Practical tips for the weekend

  • Plan parking. Downtown Charleston parking is limited, which is why the smaller CLA and X1 are easy picks for the city.
  • Ask before decorating. If you want the car decorated or used in photos, ask us first. We have not published a decoration policy, so do not assume it is allowed.
  • Read the mileage and fuel rules. They are on each Turo listing. Our luxury cars take premium fuel.
  • Bring a plan B. Weather in the Lowcountry changes quickly, so check the car you book for room for coats, umbrellas and luggage.

Is a luxury rental worth it?

For a small group, usually. Rideshares for a weekend with a ceremony, a reception and brunch add up quickly, and prices spike late at night after receptions. A rental at $60 to $70 a day, plus fuel, gives you a car on your own schedule. It also tends to be the one car you are glad you booked when the schedule changes. Compare the checkout total with what you expect to spend on rideshares, and decide based on your own itinerary.
